As a member of upper management, the Operations Manager ensures that a company’s everyday activities run smoothly. Set parameters to judge how efficiently and effectively the organization is operating. Most of the time may be spent reviewing and evaluating business procedures ranging from office expenses, Work In Progress, invoicing, collections support, job cost variances and employee performance. Accordingly, the Operations Manager may be responsible for overseeing the work of other upper-level management executives.


  • Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission — specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
  • Manage and support the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (HR, IT and Finance), through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.
  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
  • Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems and controls.
  • Revenue margin management/monitoring
  • Development of individual program budgets
  • Direct involvement in verifying work in progress invoicing/collections/solar rebates to funding sources
  • Payroll management
  • Oversee disbursement of payroll checks
  • Organization of fiscal documents
  • Responsible for setting guidelines for personnel evaluations, recruitment, and advancement
  • Regular meetings with Executives about growth, profitability and future fiscal planning


  • 5-10 years’ experience in Construction Management, Operations, Roofing or Production Building
  • Strong background and work experience in the roofing or construction industry
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel and word
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of contract management and knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
