(KRON) — El Nino is approaching this winter and many residents are preparing for the heavy rain by replacing their rooftops.
KRON 4’s Haaziq Madyum shows how Bay Area homeowners are making changes to their houses for El Nino this winter.
Business is going through the roof for some Bay Area roofing companies.
Petersen Dean Roofing and Solar has already seen a 25% increase in business this year, according to their regional sales manager.
They also had an increase in sales last year around this time so they knew it was coming and even hired on more staff to prepare.
A typical roof replacement takes five days so companies are encouraging residents to get their roofs checked now because once it starts raining, it’s too late.
