Permit Runner – Santa Clarita, CA

SUMMARY

Employee shall be responsible for handling the permitting process including plan-set preparation, submittal to the various jurisdictions, receiving the approved permitted plan-sets and preparing installation/permit packets for the installation team. Updating the company database, pertinent staff and project/customer digital and physical files. The successful candidate will have safe driving skills as driving is a major part of the day to day operations as well as strong organizational and communication skills.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare plan-sets per jurisdiction submittal requirements
  • Complete permit applications and submit for permit
  • Follow up with building departments for plan check status
  • Track permit statuses and update company database and Project Coordinators
  • Submit corrections and revisions to and from the AHJ’s
  • Pick up approved permits and deliver to the office
  • Updating the project/customer digital and physical files
  • Assemble installation packets
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of jurisdictional requirements and procedures
  • Facilitate communication, feedback and updates between AHJ’s, plan checkers, managers and our drafters/engineers regarding corrections and changes needed

 Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be self-driven, highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask as well as strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective and professional phone and email communication
  • Strong computer skills including a proficiency in Microsoft Office/Outlook Email
  • Must be a team player and able to handle a high volume of tasks
  • Ability to understand and follow safety rules and regulations within PD guidelines
  • Must have a clean DMV and pre-employment physical & drug screen
