SUMMARY

The Recruiting Manager’s job is to work closely with and oversee PetersenDean recruiters as well as manage outside recruiting agencies. The Recruiting Manager will manage job board accounts as well as oversee the PetersenDean.com careers page. They will also handle sourcing, interviewing and work closely with hiring managers to ensure positions are filled with qualified individuals that meet our current and future needs.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and distribute open requisitions to direct reports
  • Manage your own requisition load
  • Manage job board accounts and outside agency usage
  • Post open positions on PetersenDean’s website as well as other recruiting sites to obtain applicants
  • Review applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications
  • Determine applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verify references if needed; compare qualifications to job requirements
  • Source candidates for new roles within company
  • Review and screen candidates for open roles within company
  • Review job board postings, update if over 30 days old
  • Arrange management interviews by coordinating schedules and confirming interview date, time and location
  • Follow up with hiring managers to understand how the search/interviews are going
  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process.
  • Promote company’s reputation as “best place to work”
  • Manage, maintain and update GoogleDoc spread sheet of open positions.
  • Send updated req sheet to division presidents weekly
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (preferred)
  • 4+ years of construction recruiting experience (preferred)
  • At least 5+ years of recruiting experience
  • Strong ability to cultivate and build relationships
  • Attention to detail and grammar in emails
  • Strong sales skills, “Hunter’s” mentality
  • Must maintain a strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Strong follow up skills
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • General knowledge of current employment laws and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work
  • Ability to travel for recruiting meetings, college visits, career fairs, etc.
