We have mandated fall protection for all field workers and workplace safety training since 2002. PetersenDean consistently exceeds Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements and is the recipient of several Golden Gate SAFETY Awards.
PetersenDean maintains Worker’s Compensation, general liability and automobile insurance for its operations throughout the country. A copy of our certificate of insurance is registered with the contractors’ license boards in the states in which we do business; it also can be provided at the customer’s request.

All new hires are trained and tested before beginning work. All field employees are trained, fitted and issued their own personal protective equipment (PPE) to match their job description. New hires are also required to view a video detailing our fall protection requirements and their responsibilities. New-hire training covers the following topics:
In the event of an accident or near-miss, facts are gathered, reviewed and reported by the employee, crew leader and crew leader’s supervisor.
Each accident is investigated by PetersenDean’s regional safety specialist. Hazardous conditions, if any, are corrected and/or eliminated. Results of the investigation and corrective measures are provided to branch managers for proper review to prevent recurrence.
A copy of PetersenDean’s Hazard Communication Program is maintained at each job site along with all relevant material safety data sheets, copies of which are provided at the request of the customer.
Hazard communication training is provided at job sites, orientation, periodically at safety meetings, and in accordance with PetersenDean’s training schedule.
